A multistakeholder group under the Center for Cybersecurity Policy and Law which shapes digital and cyber policy in the Asia Pacific region, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
Why does Digi APAC exist?
-
By 2030, Asia Pacific’s economy is expected to reach USD 45.8 trillion, representing more than 40 percent of the global total.
-
The region is forecast to outgrow the rest of the world, with an annual growth rate of 3.5 percent and the cybersecurity market is expected to triple in size out to 2030. The regions cloud market is also expected to triple in the same period and the AI market is expected grow at an astonishing 39 percent annually.
-
Governments in the region are seeking to bolster public/private partnerships in the face of an evolving threat landscape driven by an uncertain geo-political environment. Digi Asia Pacific seeks to foster collaboration with Governments and implementation of best practice policies and global standards to meet threats and build regional resilience.
-
Governments are striving to spur digital growth, facilitate connectivity, harness AI's potential while addressing cyber crime and nation state threats, particularly to critical infrastructure. This dual dynamic is leading to more laws and regulations. Digi APAC will work with governments to ensure internationally recognized standards are utilized, best practice is applied and harmonization across borders occurs where possible.
-
There has been a proliferation of digital and cybersecurity policy setting groups (Quad and IPEF) and existing fora are expanding their digital tracks (APEC, ASEAN and PIF). Digi Asia Pacific will seek to be a nexus point for industry and policy makers of these groups to define shared objectives around trade, policy and standards for the digital economy. This collaboration will help to create a more unified approach to digital and cybersecurity policy in the region.
